Green Tea is Golden
To make green tea correctly using loose leaves, follow the steps below:
1. Heat water to around 85 Celsius (185 F) , don't bring it to a boil. If it has come to a boil, let it cool down for 30 seconds or so.
2. Add a one teaspon of loose green tea leaves to a teapot.
3. Pour the water over the leaves, and steep for 2-3 minutes;
4. Use a tea strainer to separate leaves from the brewed tea before pouring into your cup.
Key points to remember:
Water temperature:
Green tea is delicate and should be brewed with water that is just below boiling,
Leaf quantity: Use a small amount of loose leaves, typically around 1 teaspoons per cup.
Steeping time:
Steep for a short time, usually between 2-3 minutes, to avoid bitterness.
Teapot:
Use a teapot with a strainer to easily separate the leaves from the brewed tea.
